Super Thrilled About Girls Gone RX!

iSplack

Lindsey Marcelli founded Girls Gone Rx in 2012 with the idea of bringing the first all women’s competition to the community, while benefitting a Breast Cancer Charity. While Deployed to Iraq in 2008, Lindsey’s mom, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Linda had a lumpectomy in Oct 2008 and went through daily radiation treatment for 6 weeks; which was an hour drive each way from her home.  Linda has 3 kids, all 3 of which have deployed, some at the same time, some multiple times. A mom of 3 military kids, then facing cancer while her daughter is deployed, is quite the heartache.  After 5 years of taking Tamoxifen, blood work, and bi-annual mammograms, Linda is now celebrating every year being cancer free. Girls Gone Rx is teams of 3, based on Lindsey and her two brothers. It was seeing how strong and courageous her mom was during her treatment that inspired her to create Girls Gone Rx.  Girls Gone Rx is about competing for a cure, with your friends and family, and raising awareness.
